Human Protein kinase C gamma type (PRKCG) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of human Protein kinase C gamma type (PRKCG), also referred to as PKC-gamma or PKCG, in human samples. The kit is reactive with human samples and validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. It shows specificity for natural and recombinant human Protein kinase C gamma type.

Manufacturer-quoted performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.067ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.3% and inter-assay CV is 7.5%. Linearity was evaluated at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 with N=5 in serum (88-100%, 83-93%, 110-120%, 88-98%), EDTA plasma (89-101%, 109-117%, 102-113%, 103-113%), and heparin plasma (107-120%, 96-104%, 94-104%, 109-119%). Recovery values were 95% on average for serum (range 89-101%) and 97% on average for plasma (range 91-103%).

PRKCG is described as a calcium-activated, phospholipid- and diacylglycerol (DAG)-dependent serine/threonine-protein kinase active in neuronal cells and eye tissues, with reported roles in regulation of GRIA4/GLUR4 and GRIN1/NMDAR1 receptors, modulation of neuronal functions related to opiates, pain, and alcohol, mediation of synaptic function and cell survival after ischemia, and inhibition of gap junction activity after oxidative stress. The kit is intended for research in Neurosciences. Reported subcellular localisation includes the cytoplasm, perinuclear region, cell membrane, cell junctions, synapse, synaptosome, and dendrites, with translocation to synaptic membranes on stimulation.
