Human Protein disulfide-isomerase (P4HB) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Protein disulfide-isomerase (P4HB) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with human samples and recognises both natural and recombinant human Protein disulfide-isomerase.

The assay provides a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.12ng/mL. Reported precision is 3.2% intra-assay CV and 7.4% inter-assay CV. Linearity has been characterised in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, and recovery in serum averages 100% (range 94-106%) while plasma averages 102% (range 96-108%).

Protein disulfide-isomerase (P4HB) is a multifunctional enzyme that catalyses the formation, breakage and rearrangement of disulfide bonds, playing a central role in protein folding and stability. At high concentrations it acts as a chaperone that inhibits aggregation of misfolded proteins, while at low concentrations it can facilitate aggregation. Dysregulation of P4HB has been implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, supporting its use as a biomarker in cardiovascular research. Uniprot accession: P07237.
