Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the quantitative measurement of human Proteasome subunit beta type-8 (PSMB8). The assay uses an ELISA detection method and is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human PSMB8. Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.06ng/mL.

Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 was 84-94%, 107-117%, 85-95%, and 108-116% in serum (N=5); 94-103%, 95-105%, 107-118%, and 97-106% in EDTA plasma (N=5); and 95-103%, 105-115%, 101-110%, and 81-91% in heparin plasma (N=5). The kit is supplied for research use only.

PSMB8 is a beta-type catalytic subunit of the 20S proteasome core and a key component of the immunoproteasome, where it displaces the constitutive PSMB5 subunit. It is induced by gamma interferon, contributes to MHC class I antigen processing, plays a role in apoptosis and adipocyte differentiation, and is localised to the cytoplasm and nucleus (UniProt P28062).
