Human Prostaglandin D2 Synthase, Hematopoietic (PTGDS) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie PTGDS immunoassay provides quantitative measurement of hematopoietic prostaglandin D2 synthase in human samples, including serum, EDTA-plasma, and conditioned media from stimulated cultures. The enzyme catalyzes the isomerization of PGH2 to PGD2 and is studied as a marker of mast-cell activation, allergic airway inflammation, eosinophil-associated pathology, and Th2-skewed immune responses.

Each kit supports 96 assays on a microplate. Researchers pipette diluted human samples, follow the supplied protocol to generate a standard curve, and read absorbance on a standard plate reader. The assay is intended for research use only and is not for diagnostic procedures.

Hematopoietic prostaglandin D2 synthase, also called H-PGDS, is the cytosolic, glutathione-dependent isoform. It is distinct from the lipocalin-type brain enzyme (L-PGDS), which shares negligible sequence homology with the hematopoietic form. Because H-PGDS is the isoform expressed in mast cells, Th2 lymphocytes, and eosinophils, measurements made with this assay reflect immune-cell-derived PGD2 production rather than central nervous system output.

Storage and handling: reagents are shipped refrigerated and should be kept refrigerated upon arrival. Protect components from light and allow them to equilibrate to room temperature before use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted standards and conjugates, and aliquot working solutions when extended storage is required.
