Human Prosalusin (TOR2A) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human prosalusin (TOR2A) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. It is specific for natural and recombinant human prosalusin, with a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.23ng/mL. The assay is intended for research use only.

Prosalusin is a secreted peptide derived from the Torsin-2A protein, which is encoded by the TOR2A gene (NCBI Gene ID: 27433) and has a molecular weight of 36kDa. According to the manufacturer, salusins -alpha and -beta may be endocrine and/or paracrine factors able to increase intracellular calcium concentrations and induce cell mitogenesis, and may also be potent hypotensive peptides.

The kit uses a colorimetric sandwich ELISA detection method, with human as the indicated reactivity. The target protein is also known by the synonyms Torsin family 2 member A, Torsin-2A, HEMBA1005096, and PSEC0218.
