The Assay Genie immunoassay kit enables quantitative measurement of ProSAAS, also known as PCSK1N, a granin-like neuroendocrine peptide precursor expressed throughout the neuroendocrine system. ProSAAS is the endogenous inhibitor of proprotein convertase 1/3 (PC1/3) and is processed into several bioactive peptides including Big SAAS, Little SAAS, PEN, and the LEN peptides, which have been implicated in feeding behavior, body weight regulation, and pancreatic beta-cell function.

This human-reactive kit is supplied as a complete set of reagents in a 96-test format, with all components pre-measured and ready for use. The kit is validated for measuring endogenous ProSAAS in human serum, in human plasma, and in cell culture supernatants. It is supplied as a complete box including a pre-coated microplate, capture and detection antibodies, reference standards, wash buffer, and substrate. The assay produces a measurable absorbance change that is read on a standard microplate reader.

Samples should be aliquoted before storage, refrigerated, and protected from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve peptide integrity. The product is intended for research use only and is supplied by Assay Genie for in vitro investigation of neuropeptide biology, prohormone processing, and metabolic signaling research. Researchers studying PC1/3 regulation, granin family members, or hypothalamic peptide signaling pathways will find this kit useful for probing circulating ProSAAS levels across different physiological and disease states.
