Human Promotilin ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Promotilin (MLN), a peptide hormone secreted by cells of the small intestine that plays an important role in the regulation of interdigestive gastrointestinal motility and indirectly causes rhythmic contraction of duodenal and colonic smooth muscle. The kit is intended for use with human samples.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the assay has a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 10 pg/mL. Reported intra-assay precision is 4.8% CV and inter-assay precision is 8.3% CV. Linearity in serum (N=5) across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 spans 92-102%, 84-96%, 93-103% and 108-118% respectively; EDTA plasma spans 103-114%, 93-106%, 89-100% and 99-109%; and heparin plasma spans 93-103%, 83-93%, 106-116% and 105-114%. Recovery is 93% (range 87-99%) for serum and 95% (range 89-101%) for plasma. The assay shows specificity for natural and recombinant human Promotilin and is intended for research use only.

Dysregulation of promotilin levels has been linked to digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome and gastroparesis, making it a valuable biomarker for investigating these conditions. The kit is for research use only.
