Quantifying the CD133 (PROM1) pentaspan transmembrane glycoprotein is central to cancer stem cell research, and the Assay Genie Human Prominin 1 (PROM1) ELISA Kit provides a microplate-based immunoassay for this purpose. Validated for use with human tissue homogenates and cell lysates, the kit accepts inputs from cultured cells and fresh biopsy material, broadening its utility across cancer biology, stem cell characterization, and regenerative medicine workflows.

Reagents are supplied in a microplate format that supports 96 individual determinations per plate, and a chromogenic substrate generates a measurable readout on standard laboratory plate readers. Each pack contains a pre-coated microplate, calibration standards, detection antibody, wash buffer, and substrate in matched-volume vials sized for routine benchtop work. The PROM1 analyte, a roughly 120 kDa membrane protein, is captured on the plate by an immobilized antibody pair and revealed through an enzyme-linked detection step, allowing researchers to track CD133 protein levels without flow cytometry instrumentation.

Intended for research use only, the kit supports investigations of tumor-initiating populations in glioblastoma, colorectal carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and pancreatic adenocarcinoma, as well as studies of neural and hematopoietic stem cells and the retinal pigment epithelium. Assay Genie manufactures this product alongside a broader portfolio of human biomarker panels covering cytokines, receptors, and stem-cell markers commonly used in oncology and regenerative biology laboratories.
