Human Proline-rich AKT1 substrate 1 (AKT1S1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Proline-rich AKT1 substrate 1 (AKT1S1), also referred to as PRAS40 or 40 kDa proline-rich AKT substrate. It is intended for research use only and is reactive with human samples, supporting serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The assay detects both natural and recombinant human AKT1S1, with a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.057 ng/mL.

AKT1S1 is a key substrate of the AKT pathway and a subunit of mTORC1, where it negatively regulates mTOR activity in a phosphorylation-dependent manner. Dysregulation of AKT1S1 has been implicated in cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disorders, and the protein plays a role in cell growth, survival, and proliferation. It is localised to the cytoplasm and cytosol, with relevance to the cancer research area (UniProt Q96B36).

The kit employs a colourimetric sandwich ELISA workflow. Linearity performance has been characterised across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Supplied components include a dismountable microplate, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution, with storage conditions varying by component.
