Human Prolactin (PRL) ELISA Kit

Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the precise measurement of human Prolactin (PRL) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples only.

The kit has a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 7.5 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.2% and inter-assay CV is 9.2%. Across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 (N=5), linearity ranges are 86-119% for serum, 98-113% for EDTA plasma and 88-123% for heparin plasma. Recovery averages 101% (range 95-107%) in serum and 103% (range 97-109%) in plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Prolactin.

Prolactin is a secreted anterior pituitary hormone that acts primarily on the mammary gland to promote lactation and plays a role in reproductive health, with imbalances associated with infertility, menstrual irregularities and reproductive disorders. The protein (UniProt P01236) is encoded by the PRL gene (NCBI Gene ID 5617) on chromosome 6p22.3, with a molecular weight of 25,876 Da. For research use only.
