Human ProHAMP/Hepcidin prohormone ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of ProHAMP/Hepcidin prohormone in human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Hepcidin prohormone is a key biomarker involved in iron metabolism regulation, inflammation, and immune response, with dysregulation implicated in conditions such as iron deficiency anemia, chronic kidney disease, and inflammatory disorders.

The assay has a reported sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Linearity data across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions showed ranges of 86–102%, 86–101%, and 88–105% for serum (n=5); 85–101%, 89–98%, and 82–101% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 86–100%, 81–100%, and 81–99% for heparin plasma (n=5). Recovery in serum (n=5) averaged 95% (range 85–103%), in EDTA plasma (n=5) averaged 92% (range 85–98%), and in heparin plasma (n=5) averaged 98% (range 86–105%).

The kit should be stored at 2–8°C and is reported to remain stable for 12 months under those conditions. It uses a colorimetric detection method in a double-antibody sandwich format and is intended for research applications investigating iron homeostasis and related conditions.
