Human Profilin-4 (PFN4) ELISA Kit

Profilin-4 (PFN4), a member of the profilin family, plays a crucial role in actin dynamics, cell motility, cytoskeletal remodelling and cell shape changes during migration, division and adhesion. Dysregulation of Profilin-4 has been linked to cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, highlighting its significance as a potential biomarker for disease pathology and therapeutic development.

The assay delivers a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.165ng/mL. Precision is characterised by an intra-assay CV of 4.2% and an inter-assay CV of 7.1%. Spike-and-recovery performance averages 88% (range 82-94%) in serum and 90% (range 84-96%) in plasma. Linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16) in serum (96-105%, 112-122%, 95-107%, 83-96%), EDTA plasma (91-103%, 99-109%, 98-110%, 102-111%) and heparin plasma (95-104%, 94-103%, 100-112%, 104-113%).

Specificity covers both natural and recombinant human Profilin-4 (UniProt Q8NHR9), a cytoplasmic and cytoskeletal protein with a molecular weight of 14,319 Da. The protein binds phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate, phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate, phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate and phosphatidic acid, and contrary to other family members does not bind to actin.
