Human Profilin-1 (PFN1) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Profilin-1 (PFN1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay is intended for research use only and detects natural and recombinant human Profilin-1, which is also known by the synonyms Epididymis tissue protein Li 184a and Profilin I (UniProt P07737).

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78–5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 33 pg/mL. Reported precision values are 4.5% intra-assay CV and 9.6% inter-assay CV. Linearity has been assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5). Recovery in serum averages 100% (range 94–106%) and in plasma averages 102% (range 96–108%).

Profilin-1 is an actin monomer-binding protein that regulates actin polymerization, cytoskeletal organization and cell motility. Its involvement in actin dynamics and reported links to cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative disorders make this kit a useful tool for biomarker and biomedical research, particularly within the cancer research area.
