Human Proenkephalin-A (PENK) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human Proenkephalin-A (PENK). The kit is reactive with human samples and validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method.

The assay has a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 31pg/mL. Precision values are reported as an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 8.6%. Specificity has been confirmed against natural and recombinant human Proenkephalin-A.

Proenkephalin A is a secreted precursor protein that generates endogenous opioid peptides, including Met- and Leu-enkephalins, which compete with and mimic the effects of opiate drugs and play roles in pain perception and responses to stress. Dysregulation of proenkephalin A has been implicated in various neurological and psychiatric disorders, supporting its use as a biomarker in immunology research.
