Human Pro-MCH ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human pro-melanin-concentrating hormone (Pro-MCH). The assay uses a double-antibody format and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

The assay is read colorimetrically by measuring absorbance at 450 nm following TMB substrate development. Reagents are stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months. Recovery is reported at 88–103% (average 94%) for serum, 95–104% (average 95%) for EDTA plasma, and 89–100% (average 97%) for heparin plasma, with linearity across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions falling within 82–103% for the same three matrices.

Pro-melanin-concentrating hormone is described in the manufacturer literature as a regulator of energy balance, appetite, and stress response, with dysregulation implicated in obesity, metabolic disorders, and mood disorders.
