Human PRKACA ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Human PRKACA ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA using a double-antibody format for the quantitative measurement of PRKACA (Protein Kinase cAMP-Activated Catalytic Subunit Alpha), also known as cAMP-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit alpha and PKA C-alpha (UniProt P17612). The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is validated for use with human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported sensitivity is 0.469 ng/mL with a measuring range of 0.781–50 ng/mL, and kit components are stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.

PRKACA is a key enzyme in cell signalling pathways, contributing to processes such as cell growth, differentiation and metabolism, and its dysregulation has been linked to cancer, metabolic disorders and neurodegenerative conditions, supporting its relevance as a biomarker in cell biology research. The workflow involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and a stop reaction read at 450 nm. Reported linearity spans 85–102% (serum), 83–98% (EDTA plasma) and 83–100% (heparin plasma) across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions, with average spike-recovery values of 91% (serum), 92% (EDTA plasma) and 98% (heparin plasma).
