Human Presenilin-2 (PSEN2) ELISA Kit

This sandwich-format ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Presenilin-2 (PSEN2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Presenilin-2 and is intended for research use only.

Presenilin-2 is the probable catalytic subunit of the gamma-secretase complex, an endoprotease that catalyzes the intramembrane cleavage of integral membrane proteins such as Notch receptors and amyloid precursor protein (APP). It is implicated in amyloid beta (Aβ) peptide production and the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. Measuring PSEN2 levels can support studies into neurodegenerative disorders and the exploration of diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers.

The assay has a reported detection range of 15.6–1000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 8.9 pg/mL. Reported precision values are intra-assay CV 5.4% and inter-assay CV 8.8%. Linearity in serum ranges from 98–107% at a 1:2 dilution to 94–104% at 1:16 (n=5). Recovery in serum averages 96% (range 90–102%) and in plasma averages 98% (range 92–104%).
