Human PRELP ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate measurement of human PRELP (Proline/arginine-rich end leucine-rich repeat protein), an extracellular matrix protein that contributes to tissue development and maintenance. The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, using a colorimetric, double-antibody sandwich format with absorbance read-out at 450 nm.

Quoted performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Recovery has been demonstrated in serum (range 85–102%, average 94%), EDTA plasma (85–98%, average 96%), and heparin plasma (90–105%, average 96%). Linearity has been measured at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions, giving ranges of 98–104%, 85–103% and 91–102% for serum; 84–100%, 93–101% and 85–96% for EDTA plasma; and 82–93%, 81–99% and 88–95% for heparin plasma. The kit is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

Because PRELP participates in collagen fibrillogenesis and the regulation of cell adhesion, this assay is positioned as a useful tool for research into conditions such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and other connective tissue disorders.
