Human Pregnancy zone protein (PZP) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Pregnancy zone protein (PZP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Detection is performed using a colorimetric method, and the assay is reactive with human samples. The target analyte is also known by the synonyms CPAMD6 and C3 and PZP-like alpha-2-macroglobulin domain-containing protein 6.

The assay provides a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 43 pg/mL. Reported precision values include an intra-assay CV of 3.9% and an inter-assay CV of 6.1%. Specificity has been demonstrated against natural and recombinant human Pregnancy zone protein. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum values ranging from 83% to 120%, EDTA plasma from 86% to 120%, and heparin plasma from 95% to 112%. Mean recovery was 102% (range 96-108%) for serum and 104% (range 98-110%) for plasma.

PZP is a homotetrameric secreted protein corresponding to UniProt accession P20742, with a reported molecular weight of 42.3 kDa. The protein is described as able to inhibit all four classes of proteinases via a 'trapping' mechanism involving cleavage of its bait region.
