Description

Assay Genie's ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily B member 2 (KCNB2), also referred to as the voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv2.2. The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.13 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.6% and an inter-assay CV of 8.0%. Specificity has been confirmed against natural and recombinant human KCNB2. Linearity has been assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial dilutions, and recovery averages 97% for serum (range 91–103%) and 99% for plasma (range 93–105%).

KCNB2 is a voltage-gated potassium channel that mediates transmembrane potassium transport in excitable membranes, primarily in the brain and smooth muscle cells, contributing to the delayed-rectifier voltage-gated potassium current in cortical pyramidal neurons. The protein is catalogued under UniProt Q92953, and the kit is intended for research use only.
