Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative detection of HCN2 (Potassium/sodium hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated channel 2) in human samples. The kit is suitable for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.095ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.7% and inter-assay CV is 9.2%. Linearity in serum spans 82-92% (1:2) to 100-109% (1:16); EDTA plasma spans 104-114% to 85-95%; heparin plasma spans 83-95% to 115-125%. Mean recovery is 103% (97-109%) for serum and 105% (99-111%) for plasma. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human HCN2.

Synonyms include Brain cyclic nucleotide-gated channel 2, BCNG-2, and BCNG2 (UniProt Q9UL51). HCN2 is a hyperpolarization-activated ion channel with weak selectivity for potassium over sodium, contributing to native pacemaker currents in the heart (If) and in neurons (Ih); its dysregulation has been linked to epilepsy, cardiac arrhythmias and neurological disorders. The protein localises to the cell membrane as a multi-pass membrane protein. Recommended storage is -20°C, with shipping at +4°C. For research use only.
