Description

Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) is a calcium-dependent arylesterase synthesized in the liver and tightly anchored to high-density lipoprotein particles, where it contributes to the hydrolysis of lipid peroxides and the detoxification of organophosphate substrates. Quantitative measurement of circulating PON1 supports research in cardiovascular risk stratification, metabolic syndrome, diabetic complications, atherosclerosis, and hepatic function, making the protein a widely studied biomarker of systemic antioxidant capacity and HDL functionality.

This Assay Genie kit is configured as a 96-assay plate for in vitro quantification of human PON1 from cell culture supernatant, plasma, or serum specimens, supporting translational workflows that span cell-based experiments to clinical sample analysis. The kit is supplied with pre-coated microplate wells, detection antibodies, standards, and buffers required to complete a full colorimetric run, and is intended for research use only. Reagents should be stored according to the conditions detailed in the product insert to preserve antibody binding activity across the assay.

For laboratories investigating oxidative stress biomarkers, pharmacogenomic variation in PON1 expression, xenobiotic metabolism, or lipid peroxidation in patient cohorts, the platform offers a reproducible plate-based read-out suited to medium-throughput screening of experimental and clinical study sets.
