Human POMT1 ELISA Kit

Designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human POMT1 in serum, plasma and other biological fluids, this Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody format and colorimetric detection. Sensitivity is 0.469 ng/ml with an assay range of 0.781–50 ng/ml.

Validated recovery in spiked matrices was 86–105% (average 95%) in serum, 87–100% (average 97%) in EDTA plasma and 85–101% (average 90%) in UFH plasma. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 87–100%, 96–105% and 88–101% in serum; 83–100%, 82–101% and 87–100% in EDTA plasma; and 89–98%, 80–100% and 80–100% in UFH plasma. Intra-assay CV is <8% and inter-assay CV is <10%. The kit is for Research Use Only and should be stored at 4°C for 6 months.

POMT1 (Protein O-mannosyl-transferase 1; UniProt Q9Y6A1) is an endoplasmic reticulum membrane mannosyltransferase that requires coexpression of POMT2 for activity, transferring mannosyl residues to serine or threonine residues of alpha-dystroglycan. Defects in POMT1 are linked to muscular dystrophy-dystroglycanopathies (MDDGA1, MDDGB1 and MDDGC1), including Walker-Warburg syndrome and limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2K (LGMD2K).
