Human Poly (A)RNA polymerase, mitochondrial (MTPAP) ELISA Kit

Designed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Poly(A) RNA polymerase, mitochondrial (MTPAP), this ELISA kit provides a reliable tool for research into mitochondrial gene regulation. The assay is validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and specifically detects natural and recombinant human MTPAP (UniProt Q9NVV4).

Run as a colorimetric, competitive-format assay, the kit covers a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.13 ng/mL. Reported precision includes an intra-assay CV of 5.5% and an inter-assay CV of 9.3%, with recovery averaging 102% (range 96–108%) for serum and 104% (range 98–110%) for plasma. Linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions of serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.

MTPAP is a mitochondrial polymerase that synthesises the 3' poly(A) tail of mitochondrial transcripts and contributes to replication-dependent histone mRNA degradation. Dysregulation has been linked to metabolic and neurodegenerative conditions, including spastic ataxia autosomal recessive type 4 (SPAX4), making it a relevant target for biomarker and therapeutic research.
