Human Podocalyxin (PODXL) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the quantitative detection of human Podocalyxin (PODXL). The colorimetric immunoassay is designed for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and it recognises both natural and recombinant human Podocalyxin. The reported detection range is 0.156-10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL. Precision is given as an intra-assay CV of 4.7% and an inter-assay CV of 8.9%.

Linearity was assessed across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions of serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples (N=5). Mean recovery was 103% in serum (range 97-109%) and 105% in plasma (range 99-111%). Podocalyxin is described as a protein involved in cell adhesion and maintenance of the glomerular filtration barrier in the kidneys, with dysregulation linked to kidney disease; the protein is also implicated in cancer progression and cell migration.
