Human PLUNC ELISA Kit (HUFI07169)

Built for quantitative detection of human palate lung and nasal epithelium clone (PLUNC) protein, this Assay Genie ELISA supports research into innate mucosal immunity. PLUNC, also known as BPIFA1 or SPLUNC1, is a secreted host-defense factor produced in the upper airways, salivary glands, and oral mucosa, where it limits bacterial colonization at mucosal surfaces.

Investigators apply the kit in studies of chronic respiratory disease, including cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and chronic rhinosinusitis, where altered PLUNC concentrations in patient cohorts have been proposed as a biomarker of airway inflammation. The 96 Assays format supports medium-throughput screening of clinical specimens for cohort comparisons and longitudinal sampling.
