The Assay Genie Human PLEKHG5 ELISA Kit enables quantitative detection of the pleckstrin homology and RhoGEF domain-containing G5 protein, a Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor with a calculated molecular mass of approximately 110 kDa that drives RhoA GTPase activation, actin cytoskeleton remodeling, and neuronal differentiation.

PLEKHG5 is enriched in motor neurons and peripheral nerve tissue, where it regulates axon outgrowth and membrane trafficking. Pathogenic variants in PLEKHG5 underlie autosomal recessive motor neuron disorders, including distal spinal muscular atrophy type 1 (DSMA1) and intermediate Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, supporting its relevance in neurodegeneration research and biomarker discovery.
