Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Platelet glycoprotein IX (GP9), also referred to by the synonyms Glycoprotein 9, CD42a and GP-IX. The assay uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method with reactivity restricted to human samples.

According to the manufacturer's datasheet, the kit has a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 5.6 pg/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and an inter-assay CV of 11.3%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum (N=5) with recoveries of 97-106% at 1:2, 113-123% at 1:4, 86-97% at 1:8 and 85-94% at 1:16; in EDTA plasma (N=5) of 94-103%, 115-115%, 103-116% and 91-101% at the same dilutions; and in heparin plasma (N=5) of 107-118%, 81-90%, 104-114% and 82-94%. Spike recovery is reported at an average of 111% (range 105-117%) for serum and 113% (range 107-119%) for plasma. Specificity is for natural and recombinant human Platelet glycoprotein IX.

Accepted sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. GP9 is described as a membrane single-pass type I membrane protein (UniProt P14770) that contributes to the GPIb-V-IX complex functioning as the vWF receptor and mediating vWF-dependent platelet adhesion to blood vessels, with GP-IX proposed to support membrane insertion and orientation of GP-Ib. The kit is supplied for research use only.
