PF4V1 is a variant of Platelet Factor 4, a protein involved in blood clotting and inflammation. Abnormal PF4V1 levels have been linked to immune disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and thrombosis. Listed synonyms include CXCL4L1, PF4var1, CXCL4V1, SCYB4V1, SCYB4-V1, CXCL4-V1 and Chemokine (C-X-C Motif) Ligand 4 Variant (UniProt P10720).

Performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.8ng/mL, an assay range of 1.56-100ng/mL and a shelf life of 12 months. Reported recovery rates are serum 80-102% (average 91%), EDTA plasma 81-100% (average 90%) and heparin plasma 80-89% (average 84%). Linearity was demonstrated across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions. Intra-assay CV is reported at less than 10% and inter-assay CV at less than 12%, with kit stability showing a loss rate of less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage conditions.
