PECAM1 (Platelet/Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule 1) is a 130 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein concentrated at endothelial intercellular junctions and expressed on platelets and certain leukocyte subsets. Tracking its abundance supports studies of angiogenesis, leukocyte transmigration across the vessel wall, atherosclerotic plaque progression, tumor vascularization, and sepsis-associated endothelial compromise.
