Phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase type-1 beta (PIP5K1B) is a lipid kinase that converts phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate into phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2), a phospholipid that anchors membrane proteins, regulates actin polymerization at the cell cortex, and serves as the substrate for phospholipase C-generated second messengers. Dysregulated PIP5K1B activity has been reported in glioblastoma cell lines, gastric cancer tissue, and studies of synaptic vesicle recycling in neurons.

This quantitative ELISA from Assay Genie provides researchers with a reproducible plate-based assay for measuring PIP5K1B protein levels in human research samples. The kit is configured for 96 Assays and uses a colorimetric read-out compatible with standard microplate readers. Each kit is supplied with pre-coated plate wells, detection antibody, reference standard, dilution buffer, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop reagent in individual vials ready for laboratory use.

The assay supports research in cell signalling, cancer biology, and neuroscience, where PIP5K1B and related kinases (PIP5K1A, PIP5K1C) are studied as therapeutic targets and as markers of phosphoinositide pathway activity. Recommended sample handling involves collecting blood-derived fractions, clarifying by centrifugation, and storing aliquots at refrigerated temperature prior to the run to minimise freeze-thaw cycles.
