Phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class S (PIGS) is a transmembrane protein localized in the endoplasmic reticulum, where it functions as a subunit of the GPI-GlcNAc transferase complex that catalyzes the first committed step of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor biosynthesis. Loss-of-function mutations in PIGS have been associated with autosomal recessive developmental disorders, including early-onset epilepsy, intellectual disability, and facial dysmorphism, so accurate quantification of PIGS protein is useful for research into GPI deficiency syndromes and related neurodevelopmental biology.

This Assay Genie ELISA Kit is configured as a 96 Assays immunoassay with a colorimetric readout, enabling quantitative measurement of PIGS in human blood-derived sample matrices such as serum and EDTA plasma.
