The Assay Genie Phosphotyrosine Alpha-synuclein quantitative ELISA targets tyrosine-phosphorylated forms of alpha-synuclein, a presynaptic protein implicated in Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and multiple system atrophy. Tyrosine phosphorylation at residues such as Y125 modulates membrane binding, oligomerization, and aggregation kinetics, making the phospho-epitope a focal readout in neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation research.

The kit is supplied as a 96-assay microplate configured for absorbance-based quantitation in human cell lysates and human tissue lysates. Each plate is pre-coated with a capture antibody selective for the phosphotyrosine alpha-synuclein epitope, enabling researchers to track site-specific phosphorylation changes following kinase or phosphatase manipulation, oxidative stress exposure, or pharmacological intervention in neuronal and glial model systems.

Store refrigerated and protect the conjugated detection reagent from light; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted standards. For research use only, the assay supports longitudinal studies of post-translational modification in patient-derived iPSC neurons, postmortem brain tissue, and cell line models expressing wild-type or familial alpha-synuclein mutants (A53T, A30P, E46K).
