Human Phospholipase A2 (PLA2G1B) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Phospholipase A2 (PLA2G1B) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. PLA2G1B is a calcium-dependent enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of the 2-acyl groups in 3-sn-phosphoglycerides, releasing glycerophospholipids and arachidonic acid that serve as precursors of signal molecules in inflammation, lipid metabolism and cell signalling. Dysregulation of PLA2G1B has been implicated in inflammatory, cardiovascular and neurological disorders, supporting its use in cardiovascular research.

The kit reports a detection range of 1.56-100ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.39ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 3.3% and inter-assay CV is 7.7%. Dilutional linearity for serum spans 88-114%, EDTA plasma 101-120% and heparin plasma 84-120% across 1:2 to 1:16 sample dilutions. Average recovery is 96% for serum (range 90-102%) and 98% for plasma (range 92-104%). The assay recognises natural and recombinant human Phospholipase A2.

The target is secreted from pancreatic acinar cells in its inactive form, with the inactive pro-form reported as a homotrimer. UniProt accession P04054. For research use only.
