Phospholipase A2 group VI (PLA2G6), also called calcium-independent phospholipase A2β or iPLA2β, hydrolyzes the sn-2 acyl bond of glycerophospholipids without a calcium requirement, distinguishing it from sPLA2 and cPLA2 isoforms. This Assay Genie ELISA kit provides a quantitative immunoassay for human iPLA2 protein, with reactivity validated specifically for human samples and an absorbance-based readout on a microplate. The kit is intended for research use only and supports work in lipid signaling, ferroptosis, membrane remodeling, and PLA2G6-associated neurodegeneration, including PARK14-linked dystonia-parkinsonism.
