Description

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative determination of human Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase [GTP], mitochondrial (PCK2), also known by the synonyms PEPCK-M and PEPCK2. The assay is reactive with human samples and is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with stated specificity for natural and recombinant human PCK2.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.098 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.2% and inter-assay CV is 7.9%. Linearity was evaluated in serum (N=5) at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, returning ranges of 110–120%, 109–119%, 88–100% and 99–111% respectively; EDTA plasma (N=5) returned 91–101%, 94–104%, 109–118% and 95–106%; heparin plasma (N=5) returned 101–101%, 105–117%, 92–101% and 95–104%. Average recovery was 109% (range 103–115%) for serum and 111% (range 105–117%) for plasma.

PCK2 is a mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of oxaloacetate to phosphoenolpyruvate, the rate-limiting step in gluconeogenesis, and belongs to the phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase [GTP] family. The associated UniProt accession is Q16822. Reagents require storage at either -20°C or 4°C as indicated. The product is supplied for research use only.
