The Phospho-PRAS40 (T246) ELISA from Assay Genie quantifies phosphorylation at threonine 246 of PRAS40 (the 40 kDa proline-rich Akt substrate), a direct Akt substrate that regulates mTORC1 signaling. PRAS40 is phosphorylated by Akt at T246, releasing its inhibition of the mTORC1 complex.
Applied to cell lysate and tissue lysate workflows, this microplate-based assay is used in insulin signaling research, mTOR pathway studies, and cancer biology investigations, where phospho-PRAS40 status reflects Akt kinase activity downstream of PI3K signaling.
