Phosphorylation of EGFR at tyrosine 1045 (Y1045) creates a docking site for the c-Cbl ubiquitin ligase, driving receptor ubiquitination, internalization, and lysosomal turnover. This makes Y1045 a useful biomarker for studying receptor downregulation, feedback inhibition, and small-molecule kinase inhibitor response in cancer research.
