Phosphorylation of cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) at threonine 161 is a critical activating event governed by CDK-activating kinase (CAK), and the Assay Genie Phospho-CDK1 (T161) PharmaGenie ELISA Kit provides a quantitative measure of that modification in human cell lysates and tissue lysates.

CDK1 (also known as CDC2) drives the G2/M phase transition, and T161 phosphorylation status serves as a direct indicator of CDK1 activation. Investigators studying checkpoint control, DNA damage response, mitotic progression, and tumor cell proliferation use this readout to monitor pathway activity in experimental systems. The assay is reactive with human CDK1 and is validated for use with cell lysates and tissue lysates prepared from cultured cells or dissected tissue.

Each kit contains reagents sufficient for 96 assays in a microplate format, with a colorimetric readout. The assay is intended for research use only and supports in vitro applications, including drug screening studies investigating compounds that modulate CDK1 activity or CAK function.
