Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Phosphatidylinositol-glycan biosynthesis class F protein (PIGF) in biological samples. The assay is intended for research use only and is specific for the natural and recombinant human PIGF protein, also known by the synonyms GPI11 homolog and PIG-F.

PIGF is involved in GPI-anchor biosynthesis through the transfer of ethanolamine phosphate to the third mannose of GPI and is a multi-pass membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum. It forms a complex with PIGG and PIGO, with PIGF required to stabilise PIGG and PIGO, and is associated with the Metabolism research area. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

Performance characteristics from the manufacturer include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.12 ng/mL. Reported precision is an Intra CV of 4.7% and an Inter CV of 8.1%. Linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions ranges from 90% to 116% in serum, 89% to 119% in EDTA plasma, and 86% to 106% in heparin plasma. Average recovery is 103% for serum (range 97–109%) and 105% for plasma (range 99–111%). The protein is catalogued under UniProt Q07326, NCBI Gene ID 5281, with a reported molecular weight of 23,391 Da.
