PGS1, also known as PGP synthase 1, is a key enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylglycerophosphate (PGP) and plays a critical role in lipid metabolism. Dysregulation of PGS1 has been linked to various diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and metabolic disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions.

The assay has a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a range of 0.313-20 ng/mL, with colorimetric detection. Storage is at 2-8°C for 12 months. Recovery performance in spiked samples is reported as Serum 86-103% (average 93%), EDTA Plasma 93-101% (average 91%), and Heparin Plasma 86-104% (average 96%). Linearity in serial dilutions is 89-98% to 83-98% for serum, 82-100% to 88-97% for EDTA plasma, and 82-96% to 80-99% for heparin plasma (n = 5). The procedure involves equilibrating reagents to room temperature, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding for 30 minutes at 37°C, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and a stop reaction with absorbance read at 450 nm.
