Human Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PPARGC1A) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PPARGC1A). It is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant human PPARGC1A. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method with a reported detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.19ng/mL. Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 5.5% and inter-assay CV of 8.9%.

Linearity in serum is reported as 103-115% at 1:2, 98-108% at 1:4, 92-101% at 1:8, and 112-124% at 1:16 dilutions (N=5), with EDTA and heparin plasma matrices also characterised across the same dilutions. Recovery in serum averages 100% (range 94-106%) and in plasma averages 102% (range 96-108%).

PPARGC1A (UniProt Q9UBK2) is a transcriptional coactivator for steroid and nuclear receptors. It increases the transcriptional activity of PPARG and thyroid hormone receptor on the uncoupling protein promoter and regulates key mitochondrial genes that contribute to the program of adaptive thermogenesis. The protein plays an essential role in metabolic reprogramming in response to dietary availability, coordinating expression of a wide array of genes involved in glucose and fatty acid metabolism, and is involved in the integration of circadian rhythms with energy metabolism.
