Human Periostin (POSTN) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this sandwich-format ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human periostin (POSTN) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method. The analyte is also known by the synonyms Osteoblast-specific factor 2, OSF-2, PN and OSF2. The assay reports a detection range of 15.6-1000 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 9.8 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.9% and an inter-assay CV of 8.7%. Linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, and recovery averages 87% (range 81-93%) in serum and 89% (range 83-95%) in plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human periostin (UniProt Q15063; NCBI Gene ID 10631), a secreted extracellular matrix protein of approximately 80,357 Da that mediates cell attachment, spreading and adhesion, and is reported to interact with BMP1 and fibronectin.
