Peptidylprolyl Isomerase C (PPIC), also known as Cyclophilin C, is an endoplasmic reticulum–resident peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase that catalyzes the isomerization of peptide bonds preceding proline residues, accelerating protein folding and maturation in the secretory pathway. This assay from Assay Genie quantifies PPIC in tissue homogenates and supernatant fractions to support studies of ER stress, chaperone activity, and cyclophilin biology.
PPIC belongs to the cyclophilin family, whose members bind cyclosporine A and have been implicated in immunosuppression, viral replication, and oncogenic signaling. Researchers working on cancer biomarker discovery, viral host-factor screens, or prolyl isomerase pharmacology use the kit to measure endogenous PPIC levels across patient samples and cell-derived lysates, with no significant cross-reactivity observed with analogous peptidyl-prolyl isomerases under standard assay conditions.
The reagents are supplied in a microplate format with all buffers, detection antibodies, and standards required to run the assay. Reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and frozen to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and all components are intended for research use only in in vitro applications.
