Copper-dependent and bifunctional, Peptidylglycine Alpha-Amidating Monooxygenase (PAM) catalyzes the C-terminal amidation of bioactive peptide hormones, a post-translational modification essential for the bioactivity of hormones including vasopressin, oxytocin, and numerous neuropeptides. This Assay Genie kit provides researchers with a quantitative immunoassay for measuring PAM protein levels in human-derived specimens, supporting investigations in neuroendocrine signaling, prohormone processing, and secretory pathway biology.

The kit includes a pre-coated microplate and all required reagents, supplied in a 96-assay configuration. Intended for research use only, it supports studies examining PAM expression in neuroendocrine tissues, pituitary cell lines, and disease models of impaired hormone amidation. Refrigerate all components upon arrival and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody binding activity.

PAM executes two sequential catalytic reactions, peptidylglycine alpha-hydroxylation followed by N-amidation, making its quantification especially relevant to research on hormone maturation disorders, secretory granule biogenesis, and the regulation of amidated neuropeptide production. The kit functions as a tool in both basic neuroscience and endocrinology laboratories investigating amidated peptide hormone biosynthesis, in vitro research workflows, and characterization of the PAM-dependent peptide maturation pathway.
