Recovery in serum averages 93% (range 87-99%) and in plasma 95% (range 89-101%).

FKBP8 is a member of the immunophilin protein family with a molecular weight of 55kDa. It is described as a constitutively inactive peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase that becomes active when bound to calmodulin and calcium, and which may act as a chaperone for BCL2, targeting it to the mitochondria and modulating its phosphorylation state.
