Human Peptide YY (PYY) ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Peptide YY (PYY) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit recognises natural and recombinant human Peptide YY and is supplied for research use only.

Stated performance characteristics include a detection range of 6.25-400pg/mL, a sensitivity of 3.1pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and an inter-assay CV of 6.9%. Dilutional linearity in serum (N=5) is 91-104% at 1:2, 107-116% at 1:4, 87-97% at 1:8 and 86-98% at 1:16. EDTA plasma (N=5) values are 102-112%, 97-109%, 80-92% and 108-117% across the same dilutions, while heparin plasma (N=5) gives 85-97%, 97-108%, 103-103% and 94-102%. Recovery averages 85% in serum (range 80-91%) and 87% in plasma (range 81-93%).

Peptide YY, also known as PYY-I or Peptide tyrosine tyrosine, is a secreted 10,360 Da peptide of the NPY family that inhibits exocrine pancreatic secretion, exerts a vasoconstrictory action and inhibits jejunal and colonic mobility, making it a relevant target for research in the neurosciences area.
