Pepsinogen A, the inactive zymogen precursor of pepsin secreted by chief cells of the gastric corpus mucosa, serves as a widely studied serological biomarker of mucosal integrity in clinical research. The Human Pepsinogen A (PGA) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of this circulating zymogen in human specimens, employing a pre-adsorbed capture antibody immobilized on a microplate strip format with a biotinylated detector antibody and streptavidin-enzyme conjugate that together yield a chromogenic signal proportional to PGA concentration.

Each kit is supplied with reference standards calibrated against purified pepsinogen, enzyme conjugate, substrate solution, wash buffer, and sufficient microplate wells for 96 individual determinations. The enzymatic reaction produces a colored product whose absorbance is read on a standard microplate reader; signal intensity is then interpolated from the standard curve to determine PGA levels in unknown samples.
