Human Pentosidine ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of pentosidine in human biological samples. Pentosidine is an advanced glycation end product (AGE) implicated in the pathogenesis of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and osteoporosis, making accurate measurement valuable for research into glycation-related disease mechanisms.

The assay has been validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with a reported sensitivity of 3.75 ng/mL and a measurement range of 6.25-400 ng/mL. Detection is colorimetric using a competitive ELISA format on plates coated with antigen, and absorbance is read at 450 nm. The kit is intended for use with human samples only.

Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (89-99% at 1:2, 89-95% at 1:4, 81-89% at 1:8), EDTA plasma (91-100% at 1:2, 87-99% at 1:4, 81-96% at 1:8) and heparin plasma (86-101% at 1:2, 86-98% at 1:4, 81-92% at 1:8) (n = 10 each). Recovery ranges are 90-103% for serum (average 95%), 88-101% for EDTA plasma (average 92%), and 91-104% for heparin plasma (average 97%). Unopened kits should be stored sealed at 2-8°C and not cryopreserved.
