Human Pendrin (SLC26A4) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie comes a sandwich ELISA for the in vitro quantitative determination of human SLC26A4 (Pendrin) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. Pendrin, encoded by the SLC26A4 gene, functions as a sodium-independent transporter of chloride and iodide, with roles in regulating ion transport and cellular homeostasis. Dysregulation of pendrin has been associated with conditions such as Pendred syndrome, an inherited disorder characterized by hearing loss and thyroid dysfunction, making accurate quantification of this biomarker valuable for related research.

The assay has a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.34ng/mL, with specificity for natural and recombinant human Pendrin. Reported precision is 5.3% intra-assay CV and 9.9% inter-assay CV.

Linearity across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) was reported as follows: serum (n=5) 89-99%, 103-115%, 101-111%, 107-117%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 104-113%, 87-97%, 106-118%, 104-113%; heparin plasma (n=5) 89-99%, 89-97%, 90-100%, 95-105%. Recovery averaged 106% in serum (range 100-112%) and 108% in plasma (range 102-114%). The product is intended for research use only.
